S15 Loot Farming: Secret Sheep + Helltide Tricks

Unlock the Secret Sheep Level and multi-farm Helltides in Season 15 for max loot. Then scan your drops at Stat Verdict to find the keepers.

Season of Hell's Legacy is a 30th-anniversary tribute, and nothing says "celebrate three decades of Diablo" quite like farming until your stash groans. If you're grinding hard this weekend, the goal isn't just more loot — it's filtering the mountain down to the handful of keepers worth your materials. This guide covers the Secret Sheep Level, Helltide multi-farming, and how to sort the pile fast once it lands.

Unlocking the Bovine Sanctuary (the Secret Sheep Level)

The Secret Sheep Level — the Bovine Sanctuary — is Diablo's long-running joke on players who hunted for a Cow Level that didn't exist. In Season of Hell's Legacy, the anniversary questline threads through recreated moments from the first three Diablo games, and the sanctuary sits squarely in that spirit.

Here's the honest part: Stat Verdict grades items, not quest steps, so I won't invent a click-by-click unlock path that the game facts in front of me don't spell out. What I can tell you is that the sanctuary is one of several loot sources this season, alongside Helltides, Infernal Hordes, the Undercity, the Pit, Nightmare Dungeons, and the three sizes of Waking Nightmares. Treat whatever route gets you inside as a drop firehose — and plan your sorting accordingly, because that's where most players bleed value.

Helltide Multi-Farming: Splinters, Reputation, and Currency

Helltides are one of the best efficiency plays in Season 15, and the reason is the seasonal mechanic. You bear one Prime Evil Splinter at a time — Diablo's Splinter of Terror (Fire), Baal's Splinter of Destruction (Cold), or Mephisto's Splinter of Hatred (Physical) — and each modifies different activities. The Splinter of Terror specifically modifies Helltide and Infernal Hordes.

That makes the stacking obvious. Bear the Splinter of Terror while you run Helltides so its activity modifiers are active where you're actually playing. Each Splinter's reputation track carries eight activity modifiers and six upgrades to its Iconic Power, all unlocked through War Plans. So every Helltide you clear isn't just loot — it's progress toward the modifiers and Iconic upgrades that make the next Helltide richer.

One tradeoff to respect: bearing a Splinter makes you more vulnerable to that Prime Evil. If you're pushing Helltides at the top end and dying to the Terror theming, that's the cost of the boost, not a bug. You swap your borne Splinter at the largest Waking Nightmares if you want to pivot to Destruction (which modifies the Undercity and Lair Bosses) or Hatred (the Pit and Nightmare Dungeons).

There's also a quality-of-life win this season: War Plans reputation is shared across characters on your account within matching partitions (Eternal/Seasonal × Non-Hardcore/Hardcore × Normal/SSF). Each character keeps a separate planner, but the reputation itself carries — so alts contribute to the same War Plans progress that gates your Splinter upgrades.

Routes and Timing: Make the Weekend Count

I won't promise you a zone-rotation clock the game facts don't back up, so let's talk about what actually moves your drop volume. The biggest lever is bearing the right Splinter for the content you're farming — Terror for Helltides and Infernal Hordes — so every clear feeds both your loot bags and your War Plans track at once.

Beyond that, lean into where the season funnels Mythics. Echo of Mephisto now has a guaranteed Mythic drop, and Mythic Unique rates are up from Initiate and Greater Lair Bosses, Belial, and random sources. Legendary drop rates are also increased in Torment I–V (Torment VI and above unchanged), which means lower-Torment farming is more generous than it used to be if you're chasing Codex fills rather than ceiling rolls.

If you're running an alt army, remember the shared War Plans reputation. Pointing a second character at the same partition's content compounds your Splinter upgrade progress even while your main is elsewhere.

What to Keep From High-Volume Farms

High-volume farming creates a sorting problem, not a loot problem. Here's your priority order when the drops pile up.

Uniques and Mythic candidates

Every Unique now drops with 2 guaranteed affixes, and all Uniques drop at level 1 in any difficulty this season — so a low-level Unique is normal, not a fluke. If you're eyeing a Mythic upgrade, the Horadric Cube's "Upgrade Direct Item to Mythic" recipe is a true 1:1 transfer: affixes, Tempering, and Masterworking all carry over. That makes a well-Tempered, well-Masterworked base Unique far more valuable than a naked one, since none of that work gets destroyed. Two catches: it stamps a Crafted tag and you can equip only one Crafted-tag Mythic, and it can't be used on an Unmodifiable item. Mythics from the Jeweler or Blacksmith routes carry no tag and aren't limited.

Magic and Rare items with Greater Affixes

This is the easy money most players salvage by accident. A Magic or Rare item carrying a Greater Affix is a crafting candidate — never salvage it. And a poor base roll no longer kills a strong item: the Cube's Affix Value Reroll rerolls base affixes while protecting your Greater Affixes, Enchanted affixes, and Tempers. An item with great GAs and a bad base is recoverable, not dead.

Soul Splinters for your jewelry

The eight new Soul Splinters — Anguish, Sin, Lies, the Black Soulstone, Pain, the Mother, Hellfire, and Damnation — socket into jewelry only, up to three equipped. They drop as Magic, Rare, Legendary, or Unique, and Amalgamation in the Horadric Cube upgrades two of the same type and rarity to the next rarity up. Each one carries a powerful boon and a liability, so read the full tooltip before you commit — the downside is part of the deal. A Magic or Rare Soul Splinter is a real Cube candidate; don't trash it.

With this much loot moving through your inventory, the fastest way to avoid salvaging a keeper — or Masterworking a dud — is to grade the item before you touch it.

Scan any Unique or Greater-Affix Rare from your Helltide haul before you salvage or upgrade it, so you keep only the real upgrades.

Watch the resistance math and the slot traps

Resistance was revalued this season: a Single Resistance affix is worth roughly seven times an All Resistance affix — on equipment, Charms, and Tempering. All Resistance is no longer strictly better than one element, so don't auto-trash a single-element roll. And mind the two Legacy Unique slot traps: Nemesis Bracers occupy the Gloves slot (there's no bracers slot in Diablo IV) and Squirt's Blouse is a Chest piece, despite the name players remember as an amulet.

Bottom Line

Bear the Splinter of Terror while you farm Helltides so every clear feeds your loot and your War Plans track at once, lean into the Torment I–V Legendary bump and guaranteed Echo of Mephisto Mythic, and never salvage a Magic or Rare carrying a Greater Affix. The real win in a 30th-anniversary farming binge isn't the size of the pile — it's grading it down to the keepers before you spend a single material. Happy hunting, and may your drops roll high.
