Pit 150 Cleared: Which Classes Are Struggling in S14
Five classes cleared Pit 150 in Diablo 4 S14 — Warlock, Paladin & Necro lag. See who's on top, then grade your build's gear at statverdict.com.
The Pit 150 wall has finally cracked in Season 14, and the results are ugly if you're one of the players who committed to the wrong class this season. Five classes have posted verified Pit 150 clears since Patch 3.1.0 dropped on June 30 — and three are stuck staring at the ceiling. If you main Warlock, Paladin, or Necromancer, this one's for you. Let's break down who's on top, why the lagging trio is falling short, and exactly how to squeeze more damage out of the gear you already have.
The Five Classes That Cleared Pit 150
Season of Death Awakening has been generous to a handful of builds. Here are the five classes putting up clean Pit 150 clears — and what's carrying each of them:
- Sorcerer — Still the poster child for the season. Mythic-crafted Tal Rasha's Iridescent Loop stacking all four elements keeps damage multipliers snowballing, and enchanted Uniques with max-rolled affixes push crit damage through the roof. Chain Lightning and Ball Lightning variants both clear comfortably.
- Rogue — Heartseeker and Barrage builds abuse Pandemonium Rupture density to build stacks fast. Word of Hakan crafted to Mythic gives a permanent Marksman uptime that trivializes single-target Realmwalker fights.
- Druid — Cataclysm and Shred Werewolf both scale absurdly well with the new 2-affix Unique drops. Tempest Roar and Mad Wolf's Glee together give near-infinite Spirit, and the class shrugs off Rupture overlaps.
- Barbarian — Bash and Whirlwind refuse to die. Ramaladni's Magnum Opus plus a well-crafted Grandfather Mythic converts overpower into obscene burst that one-shots Realmwalkers.
- Spiritborn — Yes, still. Quill Volley and Evade builds continue to punch above their weight. The class's baseline damage multipliers mean even mediocre gear clears 150, which is exactly why it needs a nerf and probably won't get one.
The common thread? Every one of these builds leans hard on a Mythic Unique crafted from an 850+ IP base and enchants a key Unique to max-roll a scaling affix. That's the meta now, and it's not close.
Why Warlock, Paladin, and Necromancer Fall Short
The lagging trio isn't lagging because the players are bad — it's because the math doesn't add up at the top end. Here's where each one breaks down:
Warlock
Warlock's curse-and-detonate loop is satisfying, but its damage multipliers are additive where the top classes are multiplicative. Against Pit 150 armor scaling, that gap compounds fast. Curse uptime also suffers in Pandemonium Ruptures — when tears spawn multiple elite packs at once, you can't keep every target cursed, and the whole build's damage floor drops out.
Paladin
The season's newest class launched a touch undertuned. Paladin's Consecration and Holy Shield builds have strong survivability, but the offensive Legendary nodes don't multiply hard enough to hit 150. The class is desperately short on a defining Mythic — nothing in the current pool scales its holy damage the way Tal Rasha's or Grandfather scales the top dogs. It's a defensive class in a season that rewards raw multipliers.
Necromancer
Minion Necro scales beautifully until Pit 145, then hits a brick wall — minion AI can't reliably damage Realmwalkers during Rupture phases, and Bone Spear variants lack the burst ceiling to compensate. Necro's problem is consistency: it does everything at 90%, and Pit 150 punishes the last 10%.
If you're pushing one of these three, the fastest win is usually gear, not a full rebuild. A single weak affix on a chest or amulet can cost you an entire Pit tier. Screenshot your pieces and scan your gear at statverdict.com — the analyzer flags the affixes dragging your push down before you waste hours re-rolling the wrong stat.
Gearing and Mythic Choices That Close the Gap
You won't out-gear a tuning problem entirely, but you can absolutely claw back several Pit tiers with smarter choices. Focus here:
- Craft a Mythic from your best 850+ base. Any Unique at 850+ IP can go into the Horadric Cube. For Warlock, prioritize a Mythic that adds a multiplicative damage bucket. For Necro, a Mythic that boosts minion or shadow damage directly moves the needle more than any tempered affix.
- Enchant your Uniques and Mythics. This is the sleeper mechanic of S14. Enchanting now works on Uniques and Mythics, and added affixes on Mythics are always max-rolled. Swap a dead affix for Crit Damage, Vulnerable Damage, or your core skill multiplier and you'll feel it instantly.
- Never salvage Greater Affix Rares. Any Magic or Rare with a Greater Affix is a Horadric crafting candidate — Paladin especially wants these for filling the holy-damage gaps the Unique pool doesn't cover. Salvaging them is throwing away your best path to 150.
- Exploit the 2-affix Unique drop change. Every Unique now drops with 2 guaranteed affixes. For the lagging trio, that means more rerolls to hit the exact multiplier your build needs — chase the ones with your damage bucket already present.

What Likely Gets Buffed Heading Into Season 15
The tuning pattern is predictable. Expect the following heading into S15:
- Warlock — Look for curse multipliers to be converted from additive to multiplicative, or a new Legendary node that rewards multi-target curse uptime. That single change would vault Warlock into the 150 club.
- Paladin — As the new class, it's the most likely to get a defining Mythic Unique added to the pool, plus a flat bump to Aspect scaling on its holy skills. First-season classes almost always get a corrective patch.
- Necromancer — Minion damage against boss-type enemies (Realmwalkers included) is the obvious fix, along with a Bone Spear ceiling bump. Expect Necro back in the meta by mid-S15.
- Spiritborn — On the other side of the ledger, don't be shocked if Spiritborn's baseline multipliers get trimmed. It's overperforming, and the devs know it.
The Verdict
Sorcerer, Rogue, Druid, Barbarian, and Spiritborn own Pit 150 in Season 14, all riding Mythic crafts and max-rolled enchants. Warlock, Paladin, and Necromancer aren't broken — they're a multiplier short, and smart Mythic and enchant choices can close most of that gap even before the S15 buffs land.
